Bluebell Photoshoots

Relaxed and informal Hertfordshire bluebell photoshoots in a private woodland. Come and enjoy the springtime in a private setting where we can spend time in nature soaking up the colour and getting some gorgeous photos!

Did you know almost half the world’s bluebells are found in the UK? This might lead you to believe that they are abundant but actually our bluebells are a protected species. They usually flower from mid-April and last for a few weeks into May, and cover our woodland floors in a carpet of blue. They make for a gorgeous backdrop for family photos and my Hertfordshire bluebell photoshoots are a permanent feature on my shooting calendar so do get in touch if you are interested for next year!

How does it work?

My Hertfordshire bluebell photoshoots are an opportunity to take some portraits of your family members in amongst the bluebells. They take place in a private woodland in Chalfont St Peter. Paying attention to where I work is very important to me. Bluebell colonies take around 5-7 years to establish from seed to flower and if a bluebell leaf is damage by footfall it will die back, as it is unable to photosynthesise and make food for itself. The private woodland is set up for photoshoots, so there are special areas we can shoot from whilst protecting the bluebells, ensuring that our bluebell colonies are protected into the future.

We will meet at the woodland (with parking right next to the shoot location) and spend some time chatting and getting to know each other as we move around the wood. I will suggest some places to sit, to walk, to run and play games amongst the bluebells. We will be aiming to get individual portraits of everyone and full family group shots as well. I usually run the shoots towards to end of April and morning time tends to be the best light for bluebells!
