Chelsie and Jack’s wedding day was a lovely combination of wedding traditions with super-relaxed celebrations! They said their vows at St Mary’s Church in North Mymms, before heading over to The White Horse in Hertingfordbury for an afternoon and evening of celebrations with their family and friends.
The Couple’s Story
Chelsie and Jack had been together for 13 years by the time their wedding day came around, so this was a pretty special occasion for everyone involved. They had recently celebrated their 30th birthdays together, but this was an even bigger reason to get all their favourite people together.
Why they Chose St Mary’s Church and the White Horse, Hertingfordbury
Family was a big part of their plans. St Mary’s Church had a special connection for them, with Jack’s brothers having married there and their little boy Finley having been christened there too. It was important to them to have a proper church wedding, complete with the traditional touches of the organ and bell ringers.
After the ceremony, they wanted somewhere they could relax and enjoy the rest of the day with everyone. The White Horse in Hertingfordbury was just the place.
How The Day Unfolded
Chelsie got ready at a nearby hotel with her bridal party. We got some lovely photos of her getting ready with the girls. It was a priority for Chelsie to also get some shots of her little boy getting ready, so we made it to the church to capture Finley and Jack arriving before the ceremony.
The ceremony was followed by confetti outside the church, with everyone gathering to congratulate the newlyweds before the formal group photos outside the church. We also recreated the same wedding photograph in the grounds of the church that other family members have too, against a lovely old tree!
From the church, it was over to The White Horse in Hertingfordbury! Chelsie and Jack had hired the pub and courtyard, giving everyone space to catch up and enjoy the afternoon. There was a sprinkling of rain here and there, but guests still managed to enjoy the outdoor courtyard.
The speeches brought plenty of emotion and laughter.
After the meal and speeches, there was cake cutting and first dance, along with a great saxophonist to fill the dancefloor and get everyone involved.
Later on, we also managed to sneak outside for a few more photographs and we had a little gift in the form of some beautiful golden sunshine, which appeared just outside the pub. We didn’t have to go far, but the light was gorgeous and gave us a few lovely shots in the village.
My Favourite Photographs from Chelsie & Jack’s Wedding
Chelsie laughing during the speeches
I absolutely love this photograph. Speeches are brilliant for these moments – the laughter, the tears, the unexpected stories and all the reactions around the room.
A little golden-hour sunshine outside the pub
We found a lovely little pocket of sunshine just outside The White Horse and Chelsie and Jack enjoyed a quiet moment together in it.
