HAPPY AND NATURAL WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY FOR BUCKINGHAMSHIRE COUPLES

Hello! I’m Rachael, a Buckinghamshire wedding photographer capturing big laughs, happy tears, questionable dance moves and all the brilliantly unplanned moments in between. My style is natural and story-led, with a big focus on real connection – the kind of moments that whizz by on the day but become your absolute favourites afterwards.

If you’d much rather be clinking glasses and hugging your favourite people than constantly posing for photos, we’ll get on wonderfully. I blend into the background like an extra guest with a camera, working quietly (and very enthusiastically!) to capture everything as it genuinely unfolds -full of love, energy and fun.

For over six years I’ve photographed all kinds of celebrations across Buckinghamshire. From intimate “just us” ceremonies to laid-back pub parties and joyful countryside weddings, I bring experience and a smile to every wedding, helping you to keep things feeling relaxed and fun.

However you’re planning to celebrate – big, small or somewhere in between – my goal is always to tell your story beautifully and in a way that feels completely you.

If you’re looking for a Buckinghamshire wedding photographer who’ll help you feel comfortable, fit right in with your guests and capture the moments that really matter, I’d love to hear all about your plans!

St Albans Wedding Photographer

Jessica and Nicolas

Rachael is an extremely professional photographer who really listens to her clients and their vision for their wedding day. Our photos are absolutely gorgeous and we couldn’t have asked for a more patient and generous photographer.

We will be forever grateful to Rachael for capturing our special day so beautifully

Mary&David

Our photographs are beautiful, and there were so many for us to look at and choose from- from getting ready, ceremony, welcome drinks, set up, wedding breakfast, right through until the band played. There were many moments Rachael caught that we didn’t see- our venue set up, guests enjoying the day, entertainment etc.

All of our photos are perfect; we are so pleased with them and would highly recommend Rachael for your wedding photography needs!

Kristin&Simon

Rachael was absolutely fabulous. She captured so many brilliant moments from our day. Neither of us particularly enjoy having our photos taken but Rachael made us feel relaxed. Our guests also commented on how friendly and lovely she was.

Highly recommend As You Are Photography.

How Booking Works

Reserving your wedding date is simple. All that’s needed is a signed agreement and a 20% deposit.

The remaining balance is due one month before your wedding. If it’s easier, we can set up a payment plan to take care of everything in advance.

After Booking

Once your date is secured, I’ll be available to support you every step of the way. You’ll receive my wedding planning guide, packed with tips on getting the most out of your wedding photography package.

If you like, we can also arrange a pre-wedding engagement session somewhere fun and meaningful in Buckinghamshire!

ON THE DAY

On the Wedding Day

I focus on capturing your day naturally, without interrupting the flow. My goal is to document real moments — laughter, tears, and thoughtful details — without getting in the way.

If you’d like to see full wedding galleries, take a look at my blog for real wedding examples.

Couple Portraits

One of my favourite parts of the day is when I take you both away for a few quiet minutes to capture some gorgeous pictures of you. This is your time together — a precious few minutes in a busy day! I want it to be fun and relaxing – I’ll guide you gently, but mostly, it’s about capturing real moments while you enjoy each other’s company.

Family and Friends Group Photos

While I stay unobtrusive most of the day, I do step in for group photos. These are special moments with all your loved ones, and it’s so nice to mark them all being in the same place to celebrate you! I work very efficiently and in a fun way, so nobody is stuck posing for too long.

AFTER YOUR WEDDING

Your Wedding Gallery

Once your wedding is over, I carefully edit all your images so you can relive the day over and over. A preview of highlights will be ready within a week, and your full gallery will be available in 6–8 weeks.

Wedding Albums

Digital images are wonderful, but printed photos are timeless. From your private gallery, you and your guests can order prints, framed photos, and wall art.

I also create custom-designed wedding albums. Each one tells the story of your day, from big moments to tiny details, all in a beautiful book designed by you.

Frequently Asked Questions

What style of wedding photography do you cover?

My style is natural, relaxed, and story-led. I focus on capturing real moments as they happen and don’t interupt the day at all.

When it comes to couple portraits, I give gentle direction so you feel comfortable and confident, but I never make you feel posed or awkward. My aim is for your photos to feel true to you.

Do you cover all of Buckinghamshire?

Yes — I photograph weddings across Buckinghamshire, including High Wycombe, Marlow, Beaconsfield, Aylesbury, Milton Keynes, and the surrounding villages.

I’m also happy to travel to neighbouring counties such as Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Hertfordshire, and London.

How far in advance should we book you?

I’m usually booked 9–18 months in advance, especially for peak season (May–September). Popular venues such as Hedsor House, Notley Abbey, and Waddesdon Manor tend to secure dates quickly — and photographers do too.

That said, if your wedding is sooner, please get in touch and I will do my best to accomodate you!

How much do you charge as a Buckinghamshire Wedding Photographer?

My full day wedding photography collections start from £1,500. Most couples choose full-day coverage so I can tell the complete story of their wedding — from morning preparations through to the evening celebrations. I also offer options such as engagement shoots, second photographer coverage, and beautifully designed wedding albums.

Have you photographed our Buckinghamshire Wedding Venue before?

There’s a good chance I have — I regularly work at venues such as Missenden Abbey and Notley Abbey.

However, even if your venue is new to me, that’s never a problem. I love exploring new  wedding venues and always make sure I know the site well before your day.

How many photos will we get?

For a full-day wedding, I typically deliver between 500 and 800 carefully edited images. My focus is always on telling your story – you’ll receive a beautiful, cohesive gallery that covers all the moments of your day.

How long will it take to receive our photos?

You’ll usually receive a preview gallery within 1 weeks of your wedding, so you have something to share while you’re still on a high from the day.

Your full gallery is normally delivered within 4–8 weeks, depending on the time of year. All images are provided via a secure online gallery where you can download, share, and order prints.

Do you offer engagement or pre-wedding shoots?

Yes, I do! Engagement sessions are a great way for us to get to know each other before the wedding day.

Are you insured and do you have back-up equipment?

Absolutely. I’m fully insured with public liability and professional indemnity cover.

On the day itself, I photograph using professional cameras with dual memory card slots for instant backup. I also bring spare camera bodies, lenses, and lighting equipment — so you can relax knowing everything is covered.

What if you are ill?

It’s super rare, but if something unexpected happens, I have a network of talented photographers I trust who can step in. I’ll always make sure you’re covered, no worries!

Do you offer wedding albums?

Yes — we can design a timeless album together so you can relive your St Albans wedding day for years to come.

How do we book you as our Buckinghamshire Wedding Photographer?

Booking is simple. First, get in touch to check availability for your date. We’ll arrange a relaxed chat, either in person or via video call, so I can hear all about your plans and answer any questions.

If you’d like to go ahead, I’ll send over a contract and booking fee invoice to secure your date in my diary. And then you’re all booked in!

Sustainable Buckinghamshire Weddings

Caring for the environment is deeply important to me, and it plays a big role in how I operate my business. From the small, daily decisions to the bigger, long-term goals, I strive to work more responsibly and reduce my impact, all while delivering you quality and attention to detail when capturing your wedding.

Favourite Buckinghamshire Wedding Venues

One of the things I love about being a Buckinghamshire wedding photographer is the sheer variety — from historic abbeys and stately homes to rustic farms and completely unique venues. Whether you’re planning a refined black-tie celebration, a countryside gathering with outdoor drinks, or something entirely your own, there’s a venue here that fits.

HISTORIC SETTINGS

Chenies Manor House is a Tudor mansion with stunning gardens. In spring and summer and autumn the florals add incredible colour to your photographs.

Missenden Abbey is a lovely setting in peaceful countryside surroundings, with plenty of lovely architecture and spacious gardens for guests and portraits.

COUNTRYSIDE ESTATES

The Dairy at Waddesdon Manor offers a romantic lakeside setting private to the wider estate. It’s lovely layout around a courtyard makes for a realxed setting for the day, and check out that giant wedding cake sculpture for some fun photos!

For something truly impressive, Hedsor House delivers sweeping staircases and grand reception rooms to add a luxurious feel to your day.

RELAXED AND UNUSUAL

Buckinghamshire Railway Centre offers something a little different. With vintage trains and heritage railway surroundings, it’s perfect for couples wanting personality and a touch of vintage in their day.

And tucked away in the Amersham, King’s Chapel is a wonderfully characterful venue. Its unique looking ceremony room with a dome roof, and a pub-vibes, its a lovely place to celebrate.

CHARMING BARNS

Huntsmill Farm is a barn venue in a farm setting, with beautiful open fields to enjoy. It’s ideal for relaxed countryside summer days.

Notley Abbey is a beautifully intimate house with a barn alongside, and lovely gardens. It’s for couples wanting a lovely summer barn setting without too much grandeur.

However you imagine your wedding day – grand, relaxed, traditional or totally unconventional – I’d love to hear what you’re planning. Get in touch and let’s chat about your date and your chosen Buckinghamshire venue.

Engagement Shoots In Buckinghamshire

Engagement shoots are relaxed, informal sessions before your wedding. They are a chance to get comfortable in front of the camera and get to know me! They’re perfect for natural, authentic photos and make the wedding day feel much easier. Many couples use the images for save-the-dates or wedding websites, but the real benefit is how much more relaxed your wedding day feels after a practice run.

Buckinghamshire offers a beautiful mix of locations, from charming towns like Amersham and Marlow to serene countryside spots such as Burnham Beeches, so we can capture the scenery that suits your style.

This is for you if…

Every photographer works a little differently, and finding the right fit really matters. Here’s a simple way to see whether this feels like you.

YOU WANT YOUR DAY TO BE ABOUT LAUGHTER, FAMILY, FRIENDS — NOT ENDLESS POSING.

YOU’D RATHER ENJOY THE MOMENT THAN MANAGE A PHOTOSHOOT.

YOU LOVE NATURAL, REAL-LIFE MOMENTS (YES, EVEN THE MESSY, IMPERFECT ONES).

YOU WANT A PHOTOGRAPHER WHO KEEPS THINGS RELAXED, QUIETLY CAPTURING THE FUN WITHOUT BEING IN YOUR FACE.

YOU CARE ABOUT PHOTOS THAT FEEL LIKE YOU, NOT A GLOSSY MAGAZINE VERSION OF YOUR WEDDING.

YOU’RE EXCITED TO GET MARRIED AND JUST WANT BEAUTIFUL MEMORIES TO LOOK BACK ON WITH A SMILE.

Basically, if you like relaxed, real, and joyful photography — we’ll get along just fine!

Let’s see if your date is free!
