A Real Wedding at The Waterside Wedding Venue

Natural, Fun & Relaxed Wedding Photography in Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire

If your ideal wedding day is one that is joyful, personal, and all about your people, then The Waterside Wedding Venue in Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire could be a great potential venue for you. With beautiful riverside gardens, indoor and outdoor ceremony spaces, and lots of reception areas with pub vibes all round, this venue is a really clever mix of both informal and celebratory.

Wedding Spaces at The Waterside Wedding Venue

Ceremony & Reception Spaces

There lots of lovely spaces all interlinking and you’ll be surprised from the outside how spacious the venue really is!

The Bar: First up is the main bar area, with a gorgeous pub feel. It’s a cozy indoor space, perfect for guests arriving and having a first drink, or for evening time when guests want to be a bit comfier and cosier.

Oak Room: Next is the Oak Room, which is a lovely space with pretty beams to use for indoor ceremonies.

Marquees: The venue has two marquees interconnecting with the rest of the rooms, so your day can flow from dinner to dancing very easily.

Outdoor Gazebo: One of the biggest highlights here is the outdoor ceremony space. It’s a leafy, relaxed spot with a willow-clad gazebo that looks really pretty in photos.

Gardens + River Views: Whether it’s cocktail hour or candid guest photos, the gardens with the little bridge and river are great for guests to play in and offer some great spots for wedding portraits too.

A Real Wedding at The Waterside Venue – Alicia and Peter

Alicia and Peter were married at the Waterside Wedding Venue on one of the hottest June days – during a 40 degree heatwave! They had sunshine all day and not a cloud in sight. Alicia got ready that morning in a nearby Airbnb with all her bridesmaids, which made for a busy and really fun start to the day. It was a real family effort too, with Alicia’s sister even making the puddings for the wedding breakfast that same morning.

Alicia took a car with her dad to the venue. They had an outdoor ceremony under the Willow Trees, making the most of the weather, and then everyone spread out across the garden spaces for the reception. With loads of children there, the lawn quickly turned into a playground, with plenty of running around and games going on alongside everything else.

Later on, everyone moved into the marquee where the dancing properly kicked off! There was a lot of dancing. To finish things off, a pizza van turned up in the evening, which went down very well and was the perfect way to keep everyone going right to the end.

I love capturing this day for Alicia and Peter, and here are a few of my favourites images from the day:
