What is not to love about a beautiful barn setting for your wedding? I absolutely love barn wedding photography. For me barns provide just the right amount of rustic and countryside. They get some beautiful light and usually a few fields for those amazing couple shots. Barn wedding venues also seem to be in some of the really beautiful parts of the UK. For example, the Cotswolds, Cambridgeshire, Northamptonshire, and Hertfordshire all have amazing barn wedding venues. Try the gorgeous Tythe Barn at Tewinbury or the Great Barn at Micklefield Hall in Hertfordshire.

You couldn’t get much closer to perfect than Dodford Manor in Northamptonshire. This lovely couple chose to get married here in a wonderfully small and family orientated wedding last summer which I was lucky enough to photograph.

The ceremony took place in the wonderful Mortain Barn with its gorgeous stone walls and big windows.

There was a lovely, relaxed drinks reception with great garden games with the backdrop of the stone barns. The celebrations continued in the Oak Barn, where they held the wedding breakfast, speeches and dancing.

We were treated to some lovely evening light, so we went exploring the fields around the barns. We got to say hello to a few sheep along the way!
