Newborn Photography

My relaxed Hertfordshire newborn photography sessions are all about capturing your new little arrival in your own home. There’s little posing and no props. We go slowly and repsond to the needs of your  baby, and find little pockets of beauitful light around your house to get all the little details and moments captured for you.

There’s no rush to have a photoshoot in the first couple of weeks either – just whenever you feel ready. I love capturing every stage of a baby’s first year. In fact, although the newborn stage is gorgeous, I just love watching babies grow and my favourite age is around 6-10 months, when babies are sitting up and looking about the world. 

As a mum myself, I remember very clearly the feelings of chaos and tiredness that come with having a newborn around but it really is worth making time for a Hertfordshire newborn photoshoot – these moments will become more previous as time goes by and you will thank yourself in years to come for making the time for a photoshoot.

How does it work?

It is my absolute passion to capture your entier family story, from pregnancy to the newborn stage all the way to teenage years (and beyond!). If you have older children and are interested in a family session, then do head over to my family photography page for more information.

 If you are pregnant, do get in touch and I can talk you through a maternity session in a beautiful outdoor location across Hertfordshire. We just spend a bit of time chatting and walking and getting some lovely natural images of you, your partner and your bump. The best stage for maternity pictures is around 7-8 months of pregnancy when your not feeling too tired with it all!

Once your bump has arrived and you have a tiny newborn, I can come to your home to capture you in that precious bubble of awe and love that you suddenly find yourselves in. I aim to capture not only the small, precious details of your new little bundle but also this very special stage of life and all that comes with it. We can chat beforehand about any story that you might want to be part of your photoshoot – this could be bath time, visiting grandparents, or feeding your baby. Most importantly, the photoshoot will be where you all feel most comfortable. My photoshoots are very informal. There is no pressure to pose for the camera. Mostly the sessions are driven by you and your baby, but I will guide if needed. It is all about enjoying time with your baby whilst I capture photos of you.
