Kristin & Simon’s Old Luxters Barn Micro-Wedding Elopement

Sometimes less is more, and Kristin & Simon proved it beautifully with their Old Luxters Barn micro-wedding elopement. Their 4-hour celebration in Hambleden was packed with love, laughter, and unforgettable candid moments – all captured naturally in my unobtrusive style, because not every couple loves being in front of the camera, and that’s totally fine!

Rachael was absolutely fabulous. She captured so many brilliant moments from our day. Neither of us particularly enjoy having our photos taken but Rachael made us feel relaxed. Our guests also commented on how friendly and lovely she was. Highly recommend As You Are Photography. – Kristin and Simon

A 4-Hour Old Luxters Barn Micro-Wedding Elopement

This intimate elopement showed just how magical a micro-wedding can be. Simon arrived first with a few very close friends for a pre-ceremony interview, while the first family and friends trickled in. Kristin made her entrance in a surprise car organised by her friends, and the ceremony began – perfectly heartfelt, with just the core moments that mattered most.

After the ceremony, we captured some formal group photos with their nearest and dearest. Then Kristin and Simon – who aren’t big fans of having their photos taken – absolutely smashed their couple portraits around the venue. We popped over the road to the woods and explored the beautiful vineyard and farmhouse garden. The March weather cooperated beautifully – I’m pretty sure we watched a storm roll in over the valley below, but it held off all day for them! The vineyard is so special for photos and totally unique to this venue. I also learnt a charming fact – vines “sleep” during winter, and it was lovely to see them peacefully resting as we walked through.

As more friends and family arrived, everyone joined the celebration in the courtyard for drinks and canapés. Festoon lights and fire pits created a relaxed, wintry atmosphere – perfect for a sprinkling of candid photography to add to their gallery. The cake cutting and toasts (definitely not speeches, Simon!) happened inside the barn, followed by delicious bowl food. I still can’t believe how long we got to enjoy the courtyard outdoors in March!
